Nice review on our show in Ostrova

August 5th, 2015

Last week we played at the festival Colours of Ostrava and we got this nice review from a Czech newspaper. If your Czech is good, click to open it in a readable format (if not, scroll a bit further):

If your Czech is as bad as ours, here’s a translation we received:

‘… If we should pick one band that naturally fulfills the mission and anticipated philosophy of the Colours of Ostrava in their music, with no doubts it would be international band NO blues. All from the Netherlands – Palestinian virtuoso on oud and singer Haytham Safia, Sudanese percussion player Osama Meelegi, singer Ankie Keultjes and singing musicians like guitar player Ad Van Meurs and bass player Anne-Maarten van Heuvelen – together they play and sing splendid music contrived from African rhythms and Arabic tradition flavoured with American country and blues. With their music the soul of the listener is dancing and his mind is touching answers on serious questions.’

We especially like that last sentence, it is a good discription for our upcoming record Oh Yeah Habibi. More news soon!
